Supercell joins Bodom Team with more than 20 runners

The Helsinki-based game company Supercell is participating Bodom Team with a big team of more than twenty runners. We asked from the team, what motivates them to run on trails and how they got excited about Bodom Team. Here’s how one of the team’s driving forces, Hotloo Xiranood described the project:

One of the hidden gems of Finland is that people love to run! Particularly in the forest. Trail running is one of the popular ways of people connecting with nature, together!

After moving to Finland, I was fascinated by the sheer amount of forest in Finland, and more importantly, how close they are to where we live! Chances are, you have a nice area of untouched nature next to you! When I was introduced to trail running by friends a few years ago, a whole new way of experiencing Finland was unlocked!

We were chatting with our coworkers that it would be awesome if there were opportunities for us to experience trail running. Some of us participated Bodom Trail in the past, and figured it would be the perfect opportunity for the newcomers to trail running. Bodom Trail is one of the best organized trail events in Finland, and its team run Bodom Team offers us the possibility to participate together as a company. To our surprise, we have gotten more than 20 signups! This was quite organic, and everyone was really motivated to experience the Finnish trail right after winter is over.

We asked, why trail running? It turned out it’s been talked about a lot in Supercell. We believe that Bodom Trail offers us the opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy the upcoming Finnish summer. Ultimately, this event is for us a unique way to have fun together as a team!

At Supercell, we develop games that are played by as many people as possible and remembered forever. This is not an easy task. We believe that long term success stems from strong, healthy, and energetic team members. On a weekly basis, we organize various activities for our colleagues for us to connect with each other. We hope that through Bodom Trail, we will experience the fresh forest in May, and connect to others who love the sport!

Golden Trail National Series Nordics Renewed, 5+5 Tickets to Nordic Final in Bodom Trail

Golden Trail National Series is an international trail running race format in which runners qualify from national races to regional and global finals. In addition to opening the Trail Tour Finland, Bodom Trail is the Finnish qualifier race of the Golden Trail National Series Nordics, as in two previous years. This year brings a few interesting changes in the Golden Trail Nordics format.

For Finnish trail runners, the most exciting announcement is that there will be tickets to the Nordic final for five best runners in men’s and women’s 21k distance. The prize includes travel, accommodation, meals, and participation to Fýri Trail by Salomon that will take place in Hemsedal, Norway, on Sep 16, 2023. The final distance is 29k with 1200m of ascent.

This means that the top runners in Bodom Trail will be awarded with an unforgettable race experience in Norway and the possibility to represent Finland at the Nordic level. The three best men and women in Fýri Trail will receive Golden Tickets to the world final in Golfo dell’Isola, Italy, in October. In addition, there is a considerable prize purse for the top-three in Fýri Trail and the best uphill and downhill runners of the race.

The Nordic qualifier events of Golden Trail National Series are

1. SANDNES ULTRA TRAIL 22.4., Norway / 23k +1400m
2. BODOM TRAIL 6.5., Finland / 21k +500m
3. HAMMER TRAIL 13.5., Denmark / 30k +1100m
4. NØSEN HUNDREDS 17.6., Norway / 21,8k +832m
5. SALOMON 27K FJÄLLMARATHON 30.7., Sweden / 27k +1150m
6. STRANDA FJORD TRAIL RACE 12.8., Norway/ 25k +1700m
7. ROMSDALSEGGENLØPET 2.9., Norway / 28k +2400m

In Finland, Sweden and Denmark, there are 5+5 final tickets. In Norway, top-3 of each race will continue to the final.

We hope this announcement will attract many top trail runners in Finland and abroad to run Bodom Trail this year. It would be great to have a record high level of runners at the start line to celebrate the 10th edition of the event!

Mahtavaa, kun olette mukana Bodom Teamilla! Teemme parhaamme, että kokemuksenne on ikimuistoinen. Jos joukkueenne haluaa valmistautua juoksuun mahdollisimman hyvin, tarjoamme joukkueellenne ainutlaatuista mahdollisuutta saada polkujuoksun yksilövalmennusta ennen tapahtumaa.

Tarjolla on kaksi juuri teidän joukkueellenne räätälöityä yhteislenkkiä tulevissa kisamaastoissa. Näillä lenkeillä opitte juoksemaan poluilla ketterämmin, taloudellisemmin ja nopeammin. Saatte myös henkilökohtaista mäkitekniikkaopastusta sekä vinkkejä varusteisiin liittyen.

Valmennusta on toistaiseksi tarjolla vain neljälle joukkueelle, joten paikat kannattaa varat heti!

Valmentajana toimii kokenut polkujuoksija, tapahtumajärjestäjä ja juoksuvalmentaja Marko Krapu. Juoksijat huolehtivat omasta vakuutusturvastaan.

Bodom Trailin kumppani, kotimainen urheiluravinnemerkki Nosht julkaisi vuoden kovimman uutisen polkujuoksijan eväsrintamalta: Noshtin supersuosittu, huippuherkullinen Vauhtikarkki uudistuu!

Jollos Vauhtikarkit ovat samaa Vauhtikarkeista tuttua herkkuenergiaa, nyt vain uudessa muodossa ja kätevämmässä pakkauksessa. Plus reseptiin on lisätty hieman treenin aikana kuluvia elektrolyyttejä.

Jollos Vauhtikarkit pähkinänkuoressa:

  • Helppo seurata energiansaantia: Yhdessä patukassa on neljä annospalaa. Yhdessä palassa 10 g. energiaa. Eli yksi Jollos-patukka vastaa kahta perinteistä energiageeliannosta.

10th Edition of Bodom Trail May 5-6, 2023 – Registration opens Nov 22

It’s time for the 10th Bodom Trail in May 2023! The race days are Friday and Saturday, May 5-6. Registration opens on Tuesday 22 November 2022 at 18:00.

A special birthday party is planned for the event, so it pays off to sign up right away. We’ll start the celebration right on the first day of registration with birthday special prices only for fast registrants. Depending on the category, you can save up to €10 compared to the next day.

Fast inflation also affects the costs of the Bodom Trail arrangements. Already in 2022, the prices of external services and materials for the competition increased clearly, and the rise will certainly continue in 2023. The level of all expenses for next spring is not yet known, so we have to decide the participation fees partly based on estimates.

We don’t want the participation fee to be a major obstacle to participation, so we keep the increases moderate. The base price will rise from 43 to 45 euros, i.e. less than half of the current inflation rate. Since even this may seem expensive to some of those considering participation, we offer special birthday prices on the first day of registration, which will allow you to participate clearly cheaper than in 2022. Of course, if you want to support the organization of the race, it’s fine for us if you register only a day later.

Bodom Trail onnittelee 50-vuotiasta Espoon kaupunkia!

Espoossa on ollut asutusta jo pian alueen korkeimpien kukkuloiden paljastuttua merestä jääkauden jälkeen, ja muinaiset asukkaat ovat jättäneet jälkeensä esihistoriallisia asuinpaikkoja, kalliomaalauksia ja muita merkkejä olemassaolostaan. Kaupunkina Espoo on kuitenkin melko tuore, ja juhlii tänä vuonna 50-vuotista taivaltaan kaupunkina.

Bodom Trail on yksi Espoon kaupungin 50-vuotisjuhlatapahtumista. Tutustu juhlakalenteriin! Espoon kaupunki liittyy tapahtuman järjestämiseen monin tavoin: maanomistajana kaupunki myöntää luvan käyttää polkuja tapahtumassa tietyissä osissa kisareittiä, ja kaupungin liikuntatoimi auttaa käytännön järjestelyissä mm. lainaamalla tapahtumamateriaaleja.

On hienoa, että Suomen toiseksi suurimmassa kaupungissa on näin upeaa luontoa ja näin laajoja metsiä, joissa voi nauttia Bodom Trailissa juosten ja ympäri vuoden omaan tahtiin liikkuen. Tämä talvi jäi muistiin erityisesti huikeassa hiihtokaudesta ja kaupungin latutiimin antaumuksellisesta ylläpitotyöstä myös Bodom Trailin reittien alueella.
