We can finally announce the long-awaited news: the 2021 Bodom Trail will be held on June 11th-12th. The event follows the restrictions on public events published by the Regional Administrative Agency on June 1st, which allow meetings of more than 50 people to be held outdoors under certain special conditions. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health published on May 31st guidelines for the prevention of coronavirus infections at public events. These guidelines will also be followed.
Acting in accordance with the meeting restrictions means modifying several functions of the competition center and also requires all participants to follow the instructions. We will publish a participant guideline on the website in the coming days and share it with all participants in an e-mail sent during the weekend before the race.
However, we already know that certain areas in the event center will be limited to max 50 persons at a time and start times are likely to be spread out over a longer period of time. This means small changes to the start times for some runners. More information about this is also coming in the race instructions.
One of the most significant changes that will make the event possible is splitting of the 12 / 21km run into three different starts, one on Friday evening and two on Saturday morning and afternoon. The unfortunate side effect of this is that it is not possible to arrange bus rides.
With a smaller number of participants, the buses would would have too much unused capacity and the ticket price would rise too high. For some participants, the bus ride has been paid for last year. We will send instructions on how to credit this.
There are still some tickets left for the event, both for Friday’s Bodom Team and for Friday and Saturday’s individual distances. Because we were able to confirm the event so last minute, we extended the registration period by a week. The last day to sign up is Friday June 4th or earlier if the event sells out before.
