Bodom Team continues to attract employees of high profile companies to experience the spring nature and to spend a sporty afternoon with colleagues and other like-minded participants. After the entry of Supercell we are excited to see another renowned Finnish game company Rovio to join the event! Here’s how the Rovio team describes their entry process:
The idea to participate in Bodom Trail came from a seasoned Bodom Trail participant Anne Dahlgren, who has participated in the event almost every year since the event has been organized. At Rovio, we have the so-called “hobby clubs” that are founded and operated by anyone working at Rovio.
The hobby club behind this participation is a bunch of running enthusiasts who work at the Rovio headquarters in Espoo. We have been participating in the Töölönlahti Corporate Marathon relay Yritysmaratonviesti for a few years now, but this is the first time in Rovio’s history that we are participating in such a nature-based competitive event.
The small but very excited team of nine doesn’t have much trail running experience except for a few of them. Actually, some of them are very much beginners and have never done a 10km trail run before, but everyone is up for the challenge!
When Anne asked people to sign up, the only wish was that this wouldn’t be the very first time running on trails. Therefore, the group plans to go on a group run before the event, so at the latest then reality will hit! Knowing the spirit of her colleagues, Anne Dahlgren believes that they will succeed just fine. The main thing after all is to challenge ourselves and experience something new and fun together with like-minded colleagues.
One of the motivations that the group shares is to see the spring nature awakening and possibly experience muddy challenges. The trail running rookies on the team watched a bunch of photos and videos about the event and described looking “thrilling and wild”.
Of course, we’re aiming to challenge Supercell, but it’s sure to be difficult with a much smaller team, so we’ll see how it goes! But now we want to wish all participants a great event! See you soon Supercell and all!
