The original Bodom Trail 2020 date of May 8-9 turned out to be impossible due to corona. However, we still want to pull through the event during this year. After evaluating a number of options, we have chosen to arrange the event on October 23-24.
We hope that the epidemic is by then in good control and it is safe and allowed to arrange the event. Thus the traditional spring season opening turns into a season final in the last colourful autumn days.
Bodom Trail 21km belongs to Buff Trail Tour Finland and usually is the first race of the series. This year the tour will be shortened due to the cancellation of NUTS Karhunkierros and NUTS Ylläs. In the new situation, Bodom Trail is the last BTTF event of the season with 25% higher points value of the tour final.
The new date brings also an earlier sunset. This allows us to move Bodom Night starting time from 10pm to 7pm, giving a bit longer night of sleep for both organizers and Bodom Double runners. The start times of Bodom Team on Friday and Bodom Trail on Saturday remain unchanged.
Note! There are still starting slots available for Bodom Night and Bodom Team. Most probably also Bodom Trail places on Saturday Oct 24 will become available as per chapter 3 below.
Instructions to participants:
- By default, your existing registration will move to the new date. However, we will ask you to confirm this via a link that we will send by email.
- If you can’t make it on the new date, you can move your participation to 2021. The preliminary timing is May 7-8. Further instructions coming by email as well.
- If you want to cancel your registration, we recommend selling the starting slot to a new participant. The new participant fills in the details via the registration link that you received with the original confirmation. We will re-send the link by email. Most probably there is still plenty of demand during the summer.
- If none of the three options work, you can cancel your registration by email and get a refund with 6€ office fee deducted to cover bank transfer and organizing costs that have already materialised. However, we warmly recommend to select one of the first three solutions because refunding individual entry fees is a big workload for the organization.
